Kaplan Test Prep

In an effort to change the brand’s current “old prep” reputation, Kaplan rebranded itself to stand out on a very crowded market. This new visual language sought to reconnect to Kaplan's pioneer roots.

The challenge for the creative team was to implement the new brand across all product lines, communications channels, and digital assets.

www.kaptest.com was one of the biggest projects I've worked on since joining Kaplan's creative team. By helping organized the process, overlook production, and leading the design team, we set up ourselves to create new graphic standards for the entire site.

One of the biggest tasks was a new approach to product shots (or as we called them glow-ups), which needed to be more faithful to the look on Kaplan's platform but modern enough to make them eye-catching for the eCommerce site.

By working alongside the product and UX team, we help make updates to the student-facing platform, so we were able to be more truthful to what students would see inside their study tools and to the new brand aesthetic.

To create these product shots or glow-ups, we had to focalize on a particular feature within a platform and zero-in on those unique elements, made to accompany the value prop copy.
